1              Background
1.1          Concisus Legal Pty Ltd (Concisus Legal) is an Incorporated Legal Practice in New South Wales, Australia.

1.2          Concisus Legal intends to provide service to clients in Australia and abroad. This Privacy Policy shall apply to all clients of Concisus Legal without discrimination.

2.            Governing Legislation
2.1          Concisus Legal is aware of the introduction of Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and is further bound by the National Privacy Principles through the Federal Privacy Commissioner. We, being an incorporated legal practice in New South Wales with practicing Officers of the Courts, we endeavour to comply and lead an example in protecting our client’s information.

3.            Information we collect
3.1  Any information we collect from you will be for the sole purpose of providing you with legal advice, representation, service or information requested by authorities. The information we may ask for may include:

  • Personal history;
  • Employment details;
  • Business activities;
  • Financial information;
  • Family circumstances;
  • Personal assets;
  • Personal relationship.

3.2  Concisus Legal will not collect any information from you from our website, nor use any cookies to track your browsing history. We respect your privacy and will not track your footprint.

4.            Restricted Use
4.1          Any personal information obtained on paper will be securely stored, and be used solely for your matter only. When your matter is finalised, by law, we must keep your documents for a period of no less than seven (7) years. After which, all your personal information will be destroyed, or returned to you if you so request.

4.2          Concisus Legal respects the privacy of our client, and will not disclose any information to third parties without authorisation.

4.3          In order for Concisus Legal to provide advice or service, some of this information may be considered and used. If any sensitive or personal information are to be published or disclosed to third party, such as Counsel, this information will be disclosed on a need to know basis.

4.4          All information collected by Concisus Legal will be used solely for the purpose of establishing, understanding, preparing or defending the client’s legal claim or application. Concisus Legal will not use sensitive, private or personal information for marketing, publication or any other purpose than to provide service to the client.

4.5          All information collected and used are in accordance and complies with the National Privacy Principle.

4.6          In the event any government or legal bodies has authority to inspect files, documents, exhibits or any other personal information, Concisus Legal is bound to provide such information as required by law, but will not provide record to those bodies in order to protect the client’s privacy.

4.7          Notwithstanding any other clauses in this policy, Concisus Legal may use your information for direct marketing to you promoting our service and to provide you with recommendation on your legal rights.

 

5.            Web Use
5.1          Concisus Legal’s website does not use cookies or any other information collecting mechanisms.

5.2          Concisus Legal will not use any part of its website to collect information from you or about your use of Concisus Legal’s website.

5.3          The domain controller of Concisus Legal may automatically obtain information from you including your IP address and:

    • The date and time of your visit;
    • The pages you visited;
    • The previous site you visited;
    • The browser type;
    • The operating system you use.

5.3          Any information collected by Concisus Legal’s domain controller is beyond Concisus Legal’s control, and the collected information will not be used or published by Concisus Legal.

6.            Storage
6.1          All personal and sensitive information collected by Concisus Legal will be kept in a safe environment and be locked away from public viewing and access at all times.

6.2          All information will be kept for up to seven (7) years after the completion of any matter as required by law.

6.3          During the seven (7) years period, the client may request to view this information by request. If the information is stored in archive, a collection and retrieval fee may apply.

7.            Errors

8.            Updates
8.1          Concisus Legal makes no representation or responsibility in providing clients with the latest Privacy Policy. Concisus Legal will make available the latest version of its Privacy Policy on the website.

8.2          Any clauses, terms or conditions of the Privacy Policy are subject to change without notice.

9.2          If any individual has any complaint about the way Concisus Legal treats private and sensitive information, they should contact Concisus Legal on admin@concisus.com.au. All contacts and complaints are dealt with in confidence and the claim will be assessed seriously.
